Global warming is the rise in the average temperature all around the world. It is one of the biggest problems in the world today because it affects everything: animals, agriculture, and even humans.
5 Listen to Adnan Saleem again. Answer the questions.
1. What is the message that the speaker is trying to deliver?
Global warming is a serious problem that needs our attention immediately. We can help, but we have to act now.
2. Is the information provided in the audioscript fact or the speaker’s opinion?
The descriptions of what is happening in the world are fact.
3. According to professor Adnan, what effects does global warming have on our planet? And how can we reduce it?
Because of global warming, the temperature is rising, ice is melting, some animal species are breeding less, and sea level rise has become faster over the last century. We can reduce it by using less electricity, not burning trash, walking/riding a bike instead of a car, planting trees and recycling.
4. In your opinion, which of these effects could be the most devastating? Explain.
